Developer Resume Tips
📌Show Progress: Hiring managers want to see progress in your career that makes sense for the role that you're applying for. If you are an intermediate iOS developer applying for a senior back-end role, then you'll need really good reasons why you're a good fit. Your skills and career should build-up to the role your applying for.
📌Get Technical: Use keywords to list the specific technical features you know and have experience with. Even better, is to prioritize the technical features that are applicable to the job at question. Whether it's a programming language, SDK, or operating system, you want to communicate your skill set effectively.
📌Customize: Curtail your resume for a specific position you're applying for. Tech and skills related to the job should be easy to spot in your resume. Maintain and craft a general version of your resume over the years; this can quickly be retrofitted for a specific role.
📌Use a professional email: Save your embarrassing email and jokes for after you land the job.
📌Tell the truth. Developers are intelligent, and exaggerations in a resume become very apparent during the interview process.
📌Review and Polish. Your resume is something you will continually work on over the years. Reach out to developers you know or on LinkedIn, and ask them to review your resume.
📌No Experience: List all projects and contributions if you're lacking work experience. Energy and enthusiasm goes a long way when applying for an entry-level role.
